22 year old Doughty polls as London’s best NHLer of all time…

Ontario’s London Free Press polled their readers as to who was the best NHL player from their city. Overwhelmingly, those polled selected Drew Doughty. At just 22, it certainly puts the cart a bit before the horse. Drew’s recent visit as newly crowned Stanley Cup Champion certainly didn’t hurt his cause.

Drew Doughty is, in your eyes, London’s top NHLer of all-time.

Bringing the Stanley Cup home on Thursday clearly didn’t hurt his case.

The Los Angeles Kings defenceman nearly doubled the percentage of votes of No. 2 on the list — two-time Cup champ and former Knights star blue-liner Rob Ramage — in an lfpress.com poll held this week.

That’s heady stuff for Doughty, who is still only 22 years old and four seasons into what is shaping up to be a remarkable hockey career.

Shaping up? His trajectory is clearly excellent but it’s far too soon for his career to be ‘shaping up.’ -PA
