Coyotes reacquired forward Lombardi won’t play against Kings, out indefinitely

By Paul Armbruster • KingsNewsDaily.com •

Yet another injury has indefinitely sidelined Phoenix Coyotes center Matthew Lombardi after sustaining an “upper-body” injury against San Jose Thursday night in only his fourth game back with the team.

Lombardi, who left the Coyotes in 2010, was reacquired by his old team on January 16th in a trade with Toronto where he played 62 games last season. He spent the 2010-11 season recovering from a concussion after playing only two games with Nashville.

Said Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney, “He may be out for a significant amount of time.”

Another concussion? Career over?

  1. Michael J. says:

I hope Lombardi hangs them up for good. The brain is a delicate thing and we all know what damage can be done via concussion.

I cringe every time I see Clifford fight. I hope he never fights again.
