REPORT

Today’s main practice lasted for about half an hour with the lineup shown below. Jersey colors by line are highlighted, making it easier to identify players when watching the practice video below. I try to identify players as much as possible with my commentary too. Today’s videos show warmups, first unit power play work, the end of main practice roundup and post-practice individual/positional work.

gagne can’t stay in the lineup…and lewis gets a huge reward…

    it goes without saying…but…

if lewis can have a breakthrough season…wowowowow…(!)…he would go from the outhouse to the penthouse in mere months…and that’s no small achievement on a stanley cup defending team…

it also helps the kings immensely if lewis can provide the much needed offensive firepower this team has been sorely missing from the failure of key players on this current roster who have yet to register a goal this season. He has a opportunity of a lifetime…and he didn’t have to get sent back to the minors…or better…get waived or traded…

    traded…?…well…

i could see his stock being at an all-time high and another team out there who might be willing to pay for a former first-round pick that’s finally staring to play like one ever since last year’s surprise cup victory…

i do think that dl wants to do everything possible to be as competitive as he’s allowed to afford to better this team…if penner and gagne are packaged for an upstart rookie/young payer(s), then maybe that clears not only cap space, but room for advancement from someone in juniors,,,

    just a thought…and i’m indifferent as to what unfurls…btw…

The coaching staff clearly see something in his play that mere mortals like us don’t. Gagne seems to be the obvious choice in that spot but he’s either not right physically or isn’t trying as hard as Lewis. Trade stuff, yeah, it’s the old reading tea leaves thing…
